Deathstroke: the design

The character has gone several visual changes over the years, this page will try to give a cohesive guide for all the major ones in the main DC continuity with the only exception being Flashpoint.

Classic George Pérez design (1980)

The first and one of the best if not the best Deathstroke design. Later during Judas Contract we would see more about how this suit came to be, being based on African culture. And later on his solo series we would see that he's sword is based on spanish culture.

Nuclear Winter design (1992)

I believe Steve Erwin is the responsible for this design but i might be wrong. If someone knows this for sure please let me know. After dying during Total Chaos, Slade is brought back to life by Chesshire and gets a new suit. His first redesign ever.

V shaped suit (1993)

In Deathstroke The Terminator Annual 2, we meet Gunther Van Horn, one of the people responsible for Deathstroke's gear. During this time, they updated Slade suit. The most visible change is the V shape the dark blue portion of his suit now forms.

I believe the responsible for this design is Steve Erwin as well.

The Blue suit (1995)

After almost dying, Slade's healing factor went crazy and made him young again. He also gain some level of amnesia and of course, a new suit.  Again it's hard to say who's the responsible for this design, i believe Mike Huddleston did it but i might be wrong.

Back in blue and orange (1999)

Slade was back in his classic blue and orange design, years later it would get a little bit of small changes, such as a shoulderpads.

Flashpoint (2011)

Artist Joe Bennett created this pirate look for the character as he roam through the see searching for Rose.

New 52 suit V1 (2011)

I think Jim Lee came up with this design, however the art i'm using here was made by Joe Bennett. Slade looks like a tank or robot, big glowing red eye and looking more muscular then ever.

New 52 suit V2 (2014)

With art and script by Tony S Daniel, Slade starts his new comic book series with a fresh new design. During this time, Slade was young. Again. And had amnesia. Again. Yes, the N52 were just the 90's again.

The Ikon Suit (2016)

The Rebirth design and one of my favorite looks for the character, the Ikon suit, complete with a gravity sheath. Not, it's not a force field. Being design by artist ACO, i love this suit. It feels like something out of Metal Gear game. It's full of detail besides being actually relevant to the story, such as the black lines that turn orange when the suit is charged up. Even Slade's classic sword has some kind of relevance to the story. Also, Slade using a white eye patch is a nice throwback.

Defiance suit (2017)

During a brief period of time, Slade modified the Ikon suit, changing its colours and adding a cape. Again, i'm not so sure about the responsible for this design but i believe it was Diogenes Neves.

Deathstroke Inc. (2021)

On his current comic book series Slade is wearing a mixture of his pre-Flashpoint suit and the N52 V2 design. Not much to talk about this one, but it does look good. Howard Porter is the mind behind it.

King Deathstroke (2022)

A short lived but absolute badass design, unfortunately I'm not so sure about who's responsible for this one.

Dark Crisis outfit (2022)

Somewhat of a "apocalyptic" design, paying homage to Zack Snyder's Justice League Deathstroke. I believe Daniel Sampere is the one behind the idea of basing this design on that movie.
